Conisbrough Castle
South Yorkshire

 


Conisbrough Castle was originally built around 1070, like most early castles it was made from wood surrounded by a moat. The Keep was the first stone building replacing the wooden keep dating around 1180.The castle is managed by the Ivanhoe Trust.

Coronation Park, this fountain and lamp was placed in honour of
