Flamborough Head
East Yorkshire Coast

 


Flamborough Head is a few miles north of the seaside town of Bridlington, along the chalk cliffs are many coves and caves.

Flamborough Lighthouse

 

 

The 85ft lighthouse was built in 1806

 

 

The white chalk cliffs jut out into the North Sea

 

Selwicks Bay with it's pretty cove

 

 

One of many sea caves

 

 

The Fog warning station perched near the edge of the cliff

 

 

There are many different kinds of birds to be seen along the headland including, oyster catchers, gulls, eider ducks, and cormorants.

 

 

Looking along the headland there are giant rocks known as stacks

 

 

 

 

 

Bridlington Bay on the horizon can be seen from Flamborough Head
